About us
We are an international study group working at the research locations Berlin, Hamburg and Istanbul. The data will be collected mostly in Berlin and Hamburg.
Our multidisciplinary team consists of psychologists, psychiatrists, psycho-therapists, anthropologists and educationalists. We will approach the complex subject of “mental health and migration” from different perspectives, using multidisciplinary research methods. This will enable us to gain a sophisticated picture of requirements, background issues and current practice in mental health care.
The study group will be accompanied and supported by a scientific international advisory board, regional stakeholder groups in Hamburg and Berlin and representatives from the fields of politics, economy, health, migrant associations as well as focus groups composed of representatives of the target group.
The project is funded by the Volkswagen Foundation and will last three years. The project started in November 2009.
